Privacy policy
Last updated 25 August 2026
This policy explains what World Pickleball Association LLC (“WPA”, “we”) collects when you use worldpickleballtournaments.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to tournament organisers, clubs, players and advertisers.
1. Information we collect
Account data. Name, email address and password credentials when you create an organiser, sponsor or admin account. For sponsor accounts we also collect legal company name, business address, contact name, contact phone number and a business identifier (ABN, VAT, EIN, NZBN or equivalent).
Event and player data. Tournament details, divisions, entry lists, partner pairings, scores and results submitted by organisers and players.
Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive the amount, currency, payment status and a card brand and last-four reference. We never see or store full card numbers.
Advertising and campaign data. Creatives, click destinations, targeting selections, impressions, clicks, and the approximate country, region and city of the device an ad was shown to.
Technical and analytics data. IP address (used to derive approximate location), browser and device type, referring pages, pages viewed, and cookies or similar identifiers used for essential site function, analytics and remarketing audiences.
2. How we use it
- To create and secure accounts, and to authenticate sign-in.
- To publish tournaments, run registrations, draws, scoring and results.
- To take payment for entries and advertising, and to issue receipts.
- To deliver advertising to the countries and cities a sponsor selected, and to report impressions, clicks and viewer locations back to that sponsor.
- To send transactional email — confirmations, event links, campaign reports and account notices.
- To show relevant tournaments based on your approximate location.
- To detect fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
- To measure site performance and, where you have consented, to build remarketing audiences.
3. Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing and payouts.
- Cloudflare — hosting protection, delivery and aggregate traffic analytics.
- Resend — transactional and notification email delivery.
- DUPR — match results, where an organiser chooses to submit them for rating purposes.
- FCX Hub — the tournament management environment organisers are directed to; event data is synced between the two systems.
- Tournament organisers — entry details for the events a player enters.
- Advertisers — aggregate delivery reporting only. Sponsors never receive names, emails or individual identifiers.
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users or platform.
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in and security, and analytics identifiers to understand traffic. Where remarketing or advertising cookies are used, you can opt out through your browser settings or your Google Ads settings, and blocking non-essential cookies does not prevent you from using the site.
5. Retention, security and international transfers
We keep account and event data for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to meet tax, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations. Financial records are retained in anonymised form after account deletion. Data is transmitted over TLS and held by our processors in the United States, the European Union and Australia.
6. Your rights and choices
You can access and correct your details from your account profile, unsubscribe from non-transactional email, and request a copy or deletion of your data. Sponsors can delete their account and all associated personal and campaign data directly from the sponsor profile page; that also releases the email address for future signup.
To exercise any right, or to raise a privacy complaint, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Accounts are for adults. Where a junior competes in an event, their entry is created and managed by a parent, guardian or club, and we only process the details needed to run that event.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be notified by email to account holders.
